Sayulita is yet another off-the-beaten-track favorite destination in Riviera Nayarit. It has become sort of a mecca for surfing, especially for beginner surfers. It was discovered first by surfers during the 1960’s after Highway 200 was originally constructed. Today, Sayulita is a well-to-do bustling town that still is a favorite among surfers. You can find a variety of surfing rental shops that also offer lessons. Additionally, there are many shops, restaurants, boutique hotels and bungalows, arts and crafts, and, of course, an excellent beach. Sayulita has grown to become one of the top places to visit in Riviera Nayarit since it offers something to visitors of all types.

Playa Sayulita is great to relax and enjoy some cold drinks. The waves make it fun to splash in the water.
There are a number of beach front restaurants to enjoy the catch of the day.
In town there are more restaurants, art galleries, and souvenir shops with native Nayarit arts and crafts.
Other highlights include horseback riding, canopy tours, hiking, snorkeling and fishing.
