Punta Mita means “point in the middle” and it is in about the middle of the Vallarta Nayarit corridor. About 16 km (10 mi) north of Puerto Vallarta, on the north end of the Banderas Bay lies a 1,500-acre (16 km sq.) beautiful beachfront village, Punta Mita. It is surrounded by 15 km (9.5 mi) of beach on three sides as well as coves, including Litibu Bay. Punta Mita has a number of residential communities, that include condominiums and townhouses, as well as private single-family villas. There are two large resorts here, Four Seasons Resort and St. Regis Resort.
The Marieta Islands are a 15 minute boat ride from Punta Mita.
